Hello everyone!
Max, thanks for opening this topic, much appreciated.
I received an email inviting me for a project to post edit SUBTITLES.
This will involve checking the video as well and the requester is asking my per minute rate.
I am sorry if this has been asked before, I searched here before asking, but will admit not extensively because many topics that were returned to me were quite old (~2003).
What rate is usually practiced for this kind of work? There are different languages in the project, my combination is ENG>BRPT.
thank you!
Kind regards,

Hi Veridiana,
As things stand today, subtitle MTPE is a grueling, joyless type of work with extremely poor pay. There are no standard rates for it, so companies offer vastly different (but always measly) rates. My recommendation would be to steer clear of such projects until both the technology and the working conditions improve.
