By "inserting the subtitles in the video" you probably mean permanently embedding them i.e. hardcoding. That's a whole different story and only happens AFTER a subtitle file has been originated, in your case an SRT, but there are many more formats available.
Again, in order to create an SRT from scratch you need subtitling software and special training. Good thing you declined the offer ☺️
