English to Chinese Subtitling
1.1. General
Number of characters per line: maximum 15.
Number of lines per screen: maximum 2.
1.2. Punctuation
1.2.1. General
• An ellipsis uses a set of 6 periods.
• Dialogue is arranged in the following way:
– “Words of Speaker A.”
– “Words of Speak B.”
In Chinese Traditional, the pair of question mark use “「」”and “『』”.
1.2.2. Punctuation at the end of each segment
Any punctuation except question mark, ellipsis and exclamation mark is omitted.
1.2.3. Punctuation in the middle of each segment
Any punctuation will be kept intact.
